El cáncer colorectal (CCR) es uno de los tipos de cáncer más frecuentes, su origen es debido a factores genéticos como medioambientales. El uso de antibióticos, particularmente en sujetos con un consumo frecuente y en grandes cantidades se asocia de forma significativa con un mayor riesgo de cáncer de colon, especialmente de la parte proximal (derecha) del colon al alterar la microbiota intestinal de acuerdo a un estudio publicado por la Asociación Americana del Cáncer en este año.
