NCI: DELAYING CARE COULD CAUSE JUMP IN COLORECTAL CANCER DEATHTS

National Cancer Institute (NCI) warned that deaths from Colorectal and others cancer could jump by 10,000 over the next 10 years due to current delays in cancer screening, diagnoses and treatment amid the COVID-19 pandemic. NCI stated that hospitals and doctors can help prevent the situation from worsening by making patients feel comfortable about going to hospitals, doctor's offices and clinics for cancer screening and treatment. "Cancers being missed now will still come to light eventually, but at a later stage and with worse prognosis"
