ENTEROSCOPY
Enteroscopy is an endoscopic method that allows us to diagnose and treat lesions of the small intestine that were previously inaccessible due to the great length of this organ.
Using special endoscopes, it is possible to visualize the entire mucosa of the small intestine with the possibility of taking biopsies or, where appropriate, carrying out various treatments.
The exploration can be carried out by oral or rectal introduction depending on where the lesion is suspected.
This technique is performed in very special situations where the doctor has already carried out different studies and there is a high suspicion that the pathology is in the small intestine. This procedure is often linked to capsule endoscopy, which is purely diagnostic.
